This is general information and is intended to help you understand what occurs during the cremation process. Please call us at (970) 482-7557 for a compassionate discussion of your needs.

Your pet is treated with care and compassion, much as you would in life. Your pet is always individually cremated and you can always be assured that your pet's remains are not ever mixed with any other animals. We do not perform mass cremations for individual pet owners.

Cremation is a process in which intense high heat is used to transform the body into a different state of elements (mostly calcium compounds and minor minerals.) Once the process has been completed, what remains is the skeletal structure. The quantity of fragments can vary greatly due to body composition and are related directly to skeletal mass.

Your pet's cremation includes the cremains returned to you in a complementary box, as you see below. You can also choose from several urns and keepsake style containers.

To start the cremation process, the body is placed in the cremation chamber where it is subjected to extreme high heat. It may be necessary to reposition the body in the chamber during the process to ensure a thorough cremation. Following a cooling period, the remains are removed from the cremation chamber and placed on a pan to cool. All foreign objects such as metal, hip replacements, pins, plates, screws etc. are removed. You can request to have thee items returned after the cremation if you wish. The remains are then placed into a machine that processes them into a finer consistency then put into a plastic liner to be packaged.

Since we opened in 1989, all of our crematories have been purchased through Matthews Cremation Division. The machines are manufactured to the highest standard for safety and efficiency. They also include the newest technology to ensure that emission standards are exceeded. The Power Pak Jr. is designed specifically for pet cremation, and only differs from its human counterpart in size.

Our hours are: Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to Noon. Closed Sunday and all major holidays
